Pierce LB can leave in December

In seven games this season, L.A. Pierce LB Jake Minster (6-2, 230) has posted 67 tackles and 2 interceptions for the Brahmas and he's hoping that productivity as well as his measurables make him the type of player to attract enough early attention that he can leave following the season...
Minster prepped at Agoura (Ca.) High School, but didn't manage to get a lot of recruiting attention so he headed to College of the Canyons after he graduated in 2009.
"I greyshirted there, but I was driving back and forth an hour each way and it was just too far, so I switched back to L.A. Pierce where it was only 20 minutes and it's really helped me out a lot," Minster told JCFootball.com. "I really liked the staff here and, honestly, Pierce, coming out of high school, Pierce had a reputation as being a joke, but this staff has really recruited well and gotten some really good players in here to compete and we're showing that this year."
Playing the middle linebacker spot, Minster has posted a team leading 67 tackles with 2 interceptions.
"I played outside in high school and I could do it in college, but for us I play the middle," Minster said. "I read plays well and I play fast, so that's really helped me out in getting to the ball and tackling well."
On the recruiting front, Minster is hearing from a few schools and hopes more come along after they find out he's able to leave in December.
"Right now
Wyoming
,
San Diego State
, Charleston Southern and Sacramento State have all called my coaches asking about me," Minster said. "I'm trying to get my name out there more so coaches know I can leave in December, after the season is over."
Minster was a full-qualifier and has maintained a very good grade-point in college and will have four years to play three wherever he ends up should he sign with a school after the season.
