Two mid-year Cerritos players are ready to go

Cerritos QB B.J. Denker

It's crunch-time for mid-year JUCO players and two Cerritos prospects, QB B.J. Denker and TE Clark Evans, who had big seasons for the Falcons, are hoping to find homes in the next few weeks...

QB B.J. Denker - Denker is a lefty who had a solid season for the Falcons, leading them to the Southern California Championship Game where they lost 17-14 to Mt. San Antonio. Denker is a good leader with an above-average arm and completed 56% of his passes for 2,319 yards, 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions and he has enough athleticism and agility to be a threat with his legs, rushing for 430 yards and seven touchdowns.

No schools have offered to this point, but there are some four-year coaches who have made inquiries.

TE Clark Evans - Evans is a big, rangy athlete who signed with Colorado out of high school. Evans led the team in touchdown receptions with nine, finished third on the team with 31 receptions and ranked fourth in yards with 444. He has good hands, has enough speed to stretch the middle-seam and he's got great hands. Akron offered before the end of the season, however, their coaching staff was let go, so at this point he's open and waiting for more offers. He is getting some interest from Utah, Utah State, Arizona, Iowa State and Oklahoma State, but as of yet, no offers have been forthcoming.
