Jelks continues to fly under-the-radar

One of the top JUCO running backs in the country is still looking for a home, but Hartnell's Alvin Jelks (6-1, 205) isn't that frustrated. He spoke with JCFootball.com and updated us on where things currently stand...

Jelks rushed for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2010 as a freshman and followed that up this past season with 1,641 yards and 18 touchdowns while hauling in 31 receptions for 320 yards and three more scores.

But even with that productivity he's still waiting for an opportunity to play at the next level.

"Right now the only school recruiting me is San Jose State," Jelks told JCFootball.com. "I'm not frustrated by it, but yeah, I want to find a place to play."

Jelks's size and 4.5 speed are something that should intrigue four-year schools and his soft hands only enhance what he can do to help an offense.

"I feel like I can run insider or outside and be productive," Jelks said. "I love to keep the chains moving and get my yards, but I can block or catch the ball too."

Jelks is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
