JUCO LB prospect has five offers

A JUCO prospect already garnering a lot of attention on the recruiting trail is L.A. Pierce LB Marcus Jenkins-Moore (6-4, 215) and he spoke with JCFootball.com recently about his offers and which schools could be close to throwing their hats in the ring...

"I currently have five offers," Jenkins-Moore told JCFootball.com recently. "I have offers from Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Arizona and Utah just offered me verbally.

"Nebraska and a few others are getting close to offering me too.

"It's been great to get this early interest, but I need to keep working to get better."

One thing that Jenkins-Moore, who possesses great size, is working on this offseason is his speed.

"I clocked a 4.56 before the season and I want to get that down below a 4.5 before the season," Jenkins-Moore said. "I'm a good tackler and I can get out and cover a number two receiver or a guy in the slot and I blitz well off the edge."

Jenkins-Moore used his Football I.Q. and tackling skills to post 29 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack while playing in eight games this past season and said this fall he hopes to be even better.

"I want to play in our scheme and not do too much, but I want to make more plays than I did this year and I feel that now that I have the system down, I can definitely do that better," Jenkins-Moore said.

The Kentucky native enjoyed a solid prep career at Eastern (Louisville) High School and then attended two prep schools trying to get qualified for a football scholarship. However, he was unable to get things in order, so he headed west to Pierce and doesn't regret his decision one bit.

"I really liked coach Greenwood out here and the whole staff really," Jenkins-Moore said. "We didn't have a great season this past year, but I think we have some really talented guys this year and I think we'll be a lot better and tougher this fall."

Jenkins-Moore is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
