Pac 12 offer for JUCO CB prospect

Pac 12 offer for JUCO CB prospect

One of the top JUCO corners in the state of California this year, College of the Sequoias CB Steve Nelson (6-0, 185), informed JCFootball.com that while he remains committed to Georgia he continues to receive heavy interest from several schools and recently received his second Pac 12 offer...

"I got offered by Oregon State," Nelson told JCFootball.com in a message. "I'm also getting some heavy interest from Cal, Kansas and USC."

Nelson committed to Georgia back in February, having grown up a fan of the Bulldogs, but he also admits he's still keeping an open mind.

"I'm committed, but I'm keeping my options open," Nelson admitted.

In addition to his offers from Oregon State and Georgia, Nelson also claims offers from Baylor, Houston, Middle Tennessee and Washington State.

As a freshman this past season, while locking down one side of the field, Nelson posted 29 tackles, two interceptions and 16 passes defensed while starting every game.

"I played left corner, but most of the time they just put me on the (opponents') best receiver," Nelson said. "I like competing against the best the other team has to offer, so it was great experience for me."

Nelson is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season unless he redshirts, something he is considering, and then he will have three years to play three.
