McAlindon is headed to Louisiana Tech

Last weekend, American River QB Andy McAlindon (6-5, 200) took a visit to Ruston, Louisiana to check out what Louisiana Tech had to offer. After coming home and thinking about things over the past few days, he decided he wanted to be a Bulldog and called head coach Sonny Dykes this afternoon to give him the good news...

"I just committed to play for Louisiana Tech," an excited McAlindon told JCFootball.com. "It was just the people there and the program, it all just felt right to me.

"The way I interacted with the coaches and the players, it all was so comfortable, I knew I wanted to be part of what they are building down there."

As a freshman starter last season for American River, McAlindon completed over 61% of his passes for 2,875 yards, 36 touchdowns and only eight interceptions while leading his team to an 11-0 record.

McAlindon will head out once he finishes up the semester later this month and he will have four years to play three once he arrives on campus.
