"I got to hang out with the coaches and talk with them a lot," Tavarres reports, following his Tucson visit. "We really got to connect. I just really enjoyed being there. I talked to the players and watched practice; they all work hard and the effort is there, they want to be a good team and they're a good unit, they really care about each other. It's a good program."
The trip wasn't all business for Tavarres, who says there was plenty of fun to be had on the visit.
"The highlight of my trip was watching (Arizona Football Director of On Campus Recruiting/Player Personnel) Matt Dudek jump off the high dive," he says while laughing. "I challenged him to do it and he wasn't going to, but I got him to do it and Rich Rod, the staff, and other recruits got to watch him jump off the high dive; it was hilarious."
Tavarres' host, Patrick Onwussor, also showed the recruit a good time.
"He was cool," says Tavarres. "I liked him and we had a great time. It was a really good trip."
Prior to Tavarres' August commitment to the Razorbacks, the Wildcats were high on his list.
"Everything that I liked about it the first time, was even stronger the second time around," Tavarres reveals.
"They're up there," he says of the Wildcats. "I'm still committed to Arkansas and I have my trip to Boise State next week, and then I'm picking between those three."
Tavarres plans to pick between the three prior mentioned schools, though he does not have a goal date in mind for the final choice.
"I'm not really sure when," he explains. "Just by Signing Day."
