Tavarres Keeps His Word

Myke Tavarres

Tavarres will stay true to his commitment and sign with the Razorbacks on Wednesday.

College of the Siskiyous linebacker, Myke Tavarres, committed to Arkansas back in August.

Despite coaching turbulence and a tumultuous season in Fayetteville, Tavarres will keep his promise and sign with the Razorbacks on Wednesday morning.

"I picked Arkansas because it felt right," he tells FOX Sports NEXT. "I felt most comfortable there, and in my gut, it just felt right.

"Also, I felt like they were MKC's (my kind of coaches), that I would love to play for."

New head man, Bret Bielema, was able to win Tavarres over quickly.

"I really liked the head coach," he shares. "I really liked his confidence and I know he is going to be able to do some great things in his first year."

In a decision that came down to Arkansas and Boise State, Tavarres felt it was important to honor his pledge.

"I want to be a man of my word," he says. "I committed before the season and that's what it came down to. I love the school, I love the coaches, and I love the fans."
