West Virginia added one missing piece to its 2013 football recruiting puzzle when Dontrill Hyman committed to the Mountaineers on Sunday.

While West Virginia had done well in bolstering many gaps in its current roster, help for the defensive line was noticeably absent as the clock ticked down to Signing Day. Just three days before the opening of that period, though, WVU filled at least some of that hole when Dontrill Hyman committed to the Mountaineers at the end of his weekend official visit.

Hyman was a very productive player at Hinds. Playing as a defensive end, he recorded 61 tackles, which was good for third on the team. He had 7.5 sacks and another 4.5 tackles for loss, and added three forced fumbles and a blocked kick to round out his impressive totals.

Hinds )(6-4, 265 lbs.) originally hails from Warsaw, N.C., where he attended Kenan High School. He originally committed to East Carolina out of high school, but enrolled at Hinds when he did not meet NCAA initial qualifying standards. New WVU assistant coach Brian Mitchell recruited Hyman at ECU, and remained in contact with him as he completed his two seasons at the junior college. He will have three years to complete his final two seasons of eligibility at West Virginia.
