Another weekend of visitors, another handful of commitments for Western Kentucky and Bobby Petrino.
Ballard HS wide receiver Cam Lewis, Royal Palm Beach HS cornerback De'Andre Simmons, and Southwestern College defensive back Rashad Greene committed to the Toppers on Feb. 3.
Lewis picked WKU over a final list that included Florida International, Colorado State, and Bowling Green.
"Coach (Bobby) Petrino is a detailed coach," the two-star receiver said. "With this being my second year playing football, I got a lot more learning to do.
"He (Petrino) can get me to where I want to be. Also, the receivers coach (WKU assistant) Lance Thomas, I liked him a lot."
Lewis joins Aaron Jackson, Jalen Edwards, Nicholas Norris, and junior college mid-year enrollee Lonnie Turner as new pass-catching additions for Bobby Petrino and his spread offense.
Simmons, a 5-foot-11, 180 pound cornerback, picked the Hilltoppers over an offer from Middle Tennessee State.
Greene is a 6-foot-1, 175 pound junior college defensive back who picked WKU over interest from Wisconsin and Nevada.
"Well, I visited (WKU) this weekend and I really liked it," he said. "I raelly liked the coaches, Petrino, the entire staff.
"My family is really excited. They really wanted me to go there (WKU)."
Greene played wide receiver for the first half of Southwestern College's 2012 season, then started at cornerback for the second half.
He also played kick return for the Jaguars, helping lead them to a 10-1 overall record in 2012.
The new additions bring WKU to a total of 32 verbal commitments before National Signing Day on Feb. 6.
