Three offers and counting for Tyler DE

One of the emerging stars in the JUCO ranks this spring has been Tyler DE Will Coleman (6-6, 248). He recently received his third offer and he's got plenty more schools eyeing his talents as well. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented pass-rusher recently and he updated us on things...

Coleman enjoyed a solid prep career at Tyler (Tx.) Lee, but he was unable to qualify for a scholarship, so he decided the JC route was the best way to go.

"My grades were what held me back," Coleman admitted to JCFootball.com. "Tyler was close to home, I liked the program here and I had a couple of friends who were here, so I enrolled and I've enjoyed it here."

As a freshman in 2012, Coleman missed the first couple of games due to a minor injury, but then went on to work his way into the rotation along the defensive line and posted 18 tackles, one sack and three tackles-for-loss.

"We rotated a lot and I had to work my way into things," Coleman said. "We had some good sophomores that were ahead of me, so when I got my chances, I had to make the most of them.

"I'm a rush end in our system, but you have to learn both sides so we don't have to switch when the tight end lines up differently, so I can play on either side."

With his outstanding size and length to go along with his impressive athleticism, Coleman has already garnered offers from three schools and more could be on the way.

"I already had offers from Kentucky and Memphis and earlier today, Texas Tech offered me," Coleman said. "I've also been hearing a lot from South Florida, Louisiana Tech, UTSA, Houston, Southern Miss, Akron and San Diego State and all of them seem to like me a lot too."

Coleman has been working hard in the classroom this year and said there is a chance he will be done with his degree in December, but most likely he will be a May graduate and he will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
