PLAYER PROFILES
Jaylon Myers – (West Virginia University) Myers made quite a splash in his Blue Dragon debut and if it weren’t for injuries, who knows how much Myers would have turned over the record book. In his first game with HCC, Myers set a team record with three interceptions vs. Coffeyville in the 2013 season opener. The first-team NJCAA All-American led the nation for most of the season with eight interceptions in just nine games played. He finished with 16 total tackles and six passes broken up. Myers is the first Blue Dragon ever to sign with West Virginia in football.

Shattle Fenteng – (University of Georgia) Fenteng was a two-year all-conference and 2013 NJCAA second-team defensive back for the Blue Dragons. Fenteng finished with eight career interceptions. Fenteng had 83 career tackles, including 27 last season. Fenteng also had 24 career passes broken up. Fenteng is the first HCC player to sign with Georgia since last season when Toby Johnson signed with the Bulldogs.

Quincy McKinney – (East Carolina University) McKinney transferred to Hutchinson from North Carolina State and now becomes an East Carolina Pirate. He is the first Blue Dragon to sign with ECU since running back Terrell Lane last season. McKinney was a starter on an offensive line that paved the way to the 2013 Blue Dragons to an average of 37.5 points and 382 yards per game. McKinney is a second-team all-Jayhawk Conference performer this season.

Terrale Johnson – (Kansas State University) Johnson is a two-year starter for the Blue Dragons. As a freshman, he blocked for record-setting running back Terrell Lane in 2012. Johnson is an honorable mention all-league selection this season. He is one of three starters from the 2013 Blue Dragon offensive line to move on to four-year programs. Johnson is the first Blue Dragon since Kody Cook to sign with Kansas State last season.

Ryan Weese – (Oklahoma State University) Weese made his first nine field-goal attempts as a Blue Dragon. He finished 10 of 17 with a program-record-tying 47-yard field goal this season. Weese also booted 54 of 58 extra points and had 17 touchbacks on 79 kickoffs. Weese is the first Blue Dragon to sign with OSU since Josh Thompson in 2010.

Frankie Seurer – (University of Kansas) Called on to fill in for an injured starting quarterback Luke Barnes early in first quarter against Fort Scott in Week 8, Seurer orchestrated the biggest comeback in Blue Dragon history rallying HCC from 22 points down early in the third quarter to a 63-39 victory. Seurer completed 14 of 25 passes for 234 yards and three touchdown passes, accounting for five total touchdowns in the victory. Playing in the final five games as a starter, Seurer completed 92 of 161 passes for 1,114 yards and 12 touchdowns. He rushed for 180 yards and five scores. Seurer, whose father was a quarterback at KU in the early 1980s, is the first Blue Dragon to sign with the Jayhawks since Michael Mesh last season. Seurer was the 2013 Salt City Bowl Offensive MVP.

Dondre Chanet – (University of South Alabama) Chanet came to HCC after a season at Arizona Western College. He had a solid season as a defensive tackle with 35 total tackles, three stops were for loss. Chanet also had one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass broken up. Chanet is the first Blue Dragon to sign at South Alabama since Darrius Morrow in 2011.

Carnell Simon – (Troy University) Simon was a two-year starter. After an all-conference season as a freshman, Simon was plagued with injury problems this last season. Simon had 15.5 total tackles for loss, 10 as a freshman, including 6.5 quarterback sacks. Simon is the first Blue Dragon to sign with Troy since Antonio Johnson and Keion Price last season.

Marquis Montgomery – (Missouri Southern University) In two years with the Blue Dragons, Montgomery had 21 total tackles, including four tackles for loss. In his last game as a Blue Dragon in the 2013 Salt City Bowl, Montgomery got to play fullback on a goal-line situation and scored a touchdown in HCC’s 57-0 victory over Dakota College.

Bryce Harvey – (Washburn University) Harvey played in eight games this season, making eight catches for 97 yards and one touchdown.

Brock Long – (Fort Hays State University) Long came on midway through his freshman season to become one of HCC’s best defensive players. The linebacker, a second-team all-conference player in 2013, finished with 188 career tackles, including a team-high 100 this past season. Long had 15.5 tackles for loss, two career quarterback sacks, three career interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Zack Weekley – (Washburn University) Weekley had a breakout sophomore season with eight tackles against Coffeyville in the 2013 season opener. Weekley kept right on going with a 72-tackle season, including a combined 24 tackles in two Region VI playoff games against Dodge City and Butler. Weekley then had nine tackles in a Salt City Bowl Defensive MVP performance.

Taylan Ybarra – (William Penn University) Primarily a blocking back in his two-year Blue Dragon career, Ybarra had nine carries for 32 yards and had 4 receptions for 56 yards including one touchdown as a sophomore.

Keegan Murphy – (William Penn University) Murphy was used both in the defensive backfield and on special teams as a return specialist. As a defensive back, Murphy, who played in 23 career games, had 42 total tackles, three passes broken up, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. As a return specialist, Murphy averaged 14.0 yards per punt return and 12.0 yards per kickoff return.

Jess Westmoreland – (Baker University) The Hutchinson High product is a two-year starter for the Blue Dragons all across the offensive line, playing primarily as a center this past season. In his two years as a Blue Dragon offensive lineman, HCC averaged 45.2 points, 196.5 rushing yards and 498.2 total yards as a freshman. This past season, HCC averaged 37.5 points, 162.7 rushing yards and 381.6 total yards per game.
