Mays Does It All For EMCC

After a standout freshman season that saw him contribute as a quarterback, running back, receiver and return man, East Mississippi ATH Todd Mays (6-0, 200) is ready for an even better sophomore season this fall. The athletically gifted player currently holds six offers and he hopes that a good start to the 2014 season will result in more options for him...

"I have offers from Missouri, Cincinnati, Memphis, Mississippi State, Iowa State and Southern Mississippi," Mays told JCFootball.com recently. "I've been talking to Georgia too, but other than them, not many have talked to me at this point."

As a freshman with the Lions last season, Mays played some quarterback, going 31 of 47 for 341 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 641 yards and 15 more scores and he also hauled in 10 receptions for 78 yards and also handled kickoffs as well.

"I will be doing all three (WR, QB, RB) this fall, but I will be at quarterback and running back more," Mays noted.

As a prep at Olive Branch (Ms.) High School, Mays was a sought-after prospect and he wound up signing with Arkansas State, but eventually he left there and headed to East Mississippi to re-establish himself.

He is on pace to finish up his degree in December and he will have two years to play two following the 2014 football season.
