Ekbatani plans on playing this semester at L.A. Harbor College, then transferring to his college of choice for the spring, or fall semester of '06. He is getting some looks.

Nick Ekbatani will play tackle at L.A. Harbor this fall, but may be recruited as a guard. "I prefer to play tackle," he claims. "It does not really matter, though. I will play where I am needed."
Coming out of high school, Ekbatani was asked to walk-on at Cal, and Idaho told him that after he spent a year in the JUCO ranks, they would offer him. "I have not heard from the coach at Idaho since he told me that. I am still interested in them and Cal."
Other schools on the list for the big man include UCLA, San Diego State, Wyoming, Oregon, and Oregon State. "UCLA is my favorite. I would like to stay in L.A. if I can. UCLA is showing resurgence and they are an up-and-coming program."
Ekbatani says he has heard from all of his favorites. He is looking forward to a strong season. "I just want to play a good season and have an offer to go somewhere. I would like to make that happen by the spring, but if it doesn't happen until the summer or next fall, that's okay."
He describes what kind of player he is. "I work extremely hard. I am an intense and aggressive player."
The lineman had no problems with grades out of high school as he had a 3.0 core GPA and scored a 930 on the SAT.
