L.A. Harbor finished the season with a 4-6 record. "We did not do as well as
we expected to," Ekbatani stated. "It was a tough season, but I believe I
personally had a good year. I finished with over 20 pancake blocks."
The lineman now has written offers from Kentucky, Washington and Miami. "UCLA
has told me that they could be offering to. They need to look further into my
transcripts before they can extend an offer. They told me I am the only JC
player they are going after."
The Bruins used to be Ekbatani's favorite. Do they still hold the lead? "All
the teams are equal at this point. UCLA is definitely a plus because they are
local. I am visiting there on December 16th.
"I had a great visit to Kentucky (11/26). It is real nice over there and
seems like a great place to be.
"Miami is recruiting me the hardest right now. I am visiting there this
weekend. They are a big-time football program and they also offer big-time
academics. I want to major in Psychology or Business.
"I am also looking at Washington and I will visit there on December 9th. I
will make my decision after taking all of my visits. I will definitely wait to
see all the schools. When I get back from UCLA, I will be ready to sign
Kansas and Washington like him at guard and Miami and UCLA see him at tackle.
He prefers to play tackle.
Ekbatani has received post-season first team all-conference honors.
Before the season, L.A. Harbor College Offensive Lineman Nick Ekbatani was getting little to no attention. After a solid season, the former Cal walk-on is garnering some major attention.
