McElroy posted six picks to go with 40 tackles and over 20 passes broken up.
After prepping at Rialto High School in California, McElroy headed to Chaffey because he didn't take the SAT.
"I knew the DB coach here and he's really good at coaching technique and stuff like that so I felt really comfortable coming to Chaffey," McElroy said. "I'm probably more of a finesse-type of a corner. I can play physical all you want, but I'm better at just running with guys rather than trying to muscle them."
McElroy boasts a 4.4 time in the 40 and says he hasn't had anyone catch a deep pass on him since early in his high school career.
"I don't get beat deep…period," McElroy said with a confident chuckle.
On the recruiting front, he has an offer from Wyoming and has two visits set up.
"I'm going to Wyoming this weekend (1/19) and I'll be in Syracuse for a visit there next weekend (1/26)," McElroy said. "A couple of other schools have talked about me visiting but nothing has really been set up yet with them."
McElroy said wherever he decides to finish his college career he'll be looking for several things to know where he should go.
"I want to see what schools they play against and also the track record for the coaching staff sending guys to the NFL," McElroy said. "I also want to look at the depth chart. No matter where I go I know that I'll have to compete, but I don't want to be buried either so that will be a factor."
McElroy expects to graduate in May and will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
