College of San Mateo linebacker Hansen Sekona (6-1, 235) is off to a great start. He was the team's player of the game in the first game after racking up 9.5 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery. He will graduate in December and has already scheduled a trip to Kansas State during the weekend of October 6.

"He’s one of our inside linebackers and is just a thumper," says CSM defensive coordinator Tim Tulloch. "With Kurt Filler on one side and Andre Portis on the other side forcing plays inside, Hanson gets a lot of tackles. When he hits people you feel it and you hear it. It’s very violent."
