Warner dominates the middle for the Tartars

Having a physically dominant interior defensive lineman who can take up blocks while also getting pressure on the quarterback is every defensive line coach's dream. Compton DT Branden Warner (6-1.5, 280) is about as athletic as it gets when you talk about defensive tackles and he's got the early offers to prove his abilities aren't anything to smirk at.

Warner enjoyed a big time prep career at Ben E. Mays High School in Atlanta, Georgia, but he missed qualifying out of high school so he signed with Tuscalum, a D-2 school in Tennessee. After redshirting in 2006, he decided he wanted to try and play D-1 ball and had some friends who knew the Compton program would be a good fit for him, so he headed west.
