Rowells keeps rolling along

Even though he's been putting up huge numbers, Redwoods RB Lyndon Rowells (5-10, 198) is still waiting for his first offer. However, he hasn't let the lack of recruiting attention get him down and he's as focused as ever on helping lead the Corsairs to a winning season.

"It was tough early on this year," Rowells admitted to JCFootball.com recently. "We got off to a rough start, but we've won our past two games and we're playing pretty well right now."

For the season, Rowells has posted 847 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns in six games, including a 279 yard, five touchdown effort last week in a win over Contra Costa College.

On the recruiting front, a few schools have continued to contact the talented back and he's working on getting some tape out to schools who have requested it.

"The main three schools talking to me right now are South Florida, TCU and New Mexico State," Rowells said. "South Florida actually just called my coaches the other day and they were asking for some tape on me, so we're getting that ready to send to them.

"Actually a lot of schools have said they want my film, so that's what we're about ready to do."

Other schools remaining in contact with Rowells include Oregon State, Wyoming, Middle Tennessee and Akron among others.

Rowells is still on pace to sign with a school in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
