Two visits set for Gomes

One of the top JC corner prospects in the state of California this year is CCSF CB Dejon Gomes (6-1, 190) and he's got the offers to prove it. He's already set up visits to Big 12 and Conference USA schools and he could see more offers come in before it's all said and done...

"I've visiting Nebraska next Friday (November 28th) and I'm visiting Houston on December 12th," Gomes said. "Kansas was by and they haven't offered me yet, but I may be setting up a visit with them down the road, I'm not really sure right now."

Besides his offers from Houston and Nebraska, Gomes also has offers from UNLV, Kansas State, Eastern Michigan and Hawaii.

As a freshman in 2007, Gomes posted solid numbers, wracking up 27 tackles, three interceptions and eight passes broken up and he was named the Defensive Player of the Game in the Rams' bowl game.

He's followed that up with an even better performance as a sophomore notching 39 tackles, four interceptions and 10 passes broken up.

Gomes is eligible to sign with a school in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
