Green leads potent Butte rushing attack

He's been a mainstay the past two years in the the backfield for Butte, but RB Alex Green (6-2, 215) is still waiting on his first offer. However, he's more focused on getting his team to the state championship game right now and he's well on his way to doing just that...

"Things have been going alright," Green told JCFootball.com. "We beat Reedley on Saturday and now we're into the playoffs and that's all you can ask for as a player.

"Our goal all season has been to get to the postseason and then work on getting a championship. We're on our way to reaching our goal, but we're not there yet."

After he spent his freshman season sharing carries in the loaded Butte backfiend, Green has gotten a majority of the carries for the Roadrunners and he's rushed for over 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns while catching 24 passes for 350 more yards.

"I've had a good season personally, but I feel like I could do more for us," Green said. "It's all about the team though and we've had some games where we were ahead by so much, I didn't get a lot of carries in the second half."

On the recruiting front the big, physical back who signed with Oregon State after high school is still waiting on his first offer, but he has a visit set with a 1AA program and more D-1 schools have picked up their interest.

"I'm supposed to go to Sac State December 6th, so that one is set," Green said. "Other than that, Arizona State, Bowling Green, Pittsburgh and Ohio are looking at me a lot."

Green said he's still set to sign with a school in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
