Butte was named the JC Gridwire National Champion after finishing the season 12-0. One of the reasons for the Roadrunners' success was their defense and one of the leaders of the defense was LB Jon Watts (6-3, 240) who made plays all over the field. Even with his stalwart play, Watts hasn't seen much in the way of recruiting attention but things are starting to pick up...

Watts had a solid freshman season in 2007, posting 43 tackles, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, five sacks and one blocked kick while earning First Team All-Nor Cal honors, but in 2008 he was one of the best in California as he totaled over 70 tackles, 10 sacks, 15 tackles-for-loss and an amazing 12 passes...
