Gaisie prepares to take visits

He's still waiting on his first offer, but that hasn't stopped Mt. San Antonio CB Dominique Gaisie (5-10, 185) from setting up some visits to the schools who have shown him the most interest. JCFootball.com caught up with the gifted cover-corner and he updated us on things and a timeline for when he'll make a decision...

"I don't have any offers yet, but all of the schools I'm visiting said they will most likely offer me on my visit," Gaisie told JCFootball.com on the eve of his first official visit. "I'm going to BYU (Friday) and then I have New Mexico State on January 16th, Sacramento State on the 23rd and Washington is my last visit on January 30th."

In 12 games this past season, Gaisie managed to post 71 tackles, four interceptions and 13 passes defensed while almost averaging 20.3 yards per kickoff return and 13.2 yards per punt return.

"All of the schools looking at me like me at corner," Gaisie said. "They also like the fact I'm a good return man and I can return punts and kicks if they need it so that makes me more valuable to them."

Gaisie said while he maintains a close relationship with new Washington DB coach Demetrice Martin, that will only be one factor in where he decides to go.

"Coach Martin and I have a good relationship and nothing is going to change that," Martin said before adding, "But I also have to make sure I choose the right school for me and a place I can play early and make a difference.

"That might be Washington, but that might be at BYU or one of the other schools, so I won't commit on my visits. I'll come home and think about things and then make a decision."

Gaisie will finish his AA degree in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
