One of the best JUCO interior defensive linemen you haven't heard about yet is Foothill DT Trevor…
Roberson getting lots of early looks
Roberson had assumed he would play for the Rams in 2009 and then move on, but there was some confusion as far as what classes he was taking to be eligible.
"I had some academic couselors telling me 'this is what you need to take' and some other ones saying 'you needed to take these classes, so you aren't eligible' so they wanted me to redshirt and get things fixed," Roberson said. "It was pretty frustrating and I was like 'I've had enough of this' because I was doing what they told me to do and they wanted me to sit out a year.
"After I quit (CCSF) I was going to play in the AFL (Arena Football League), but they aren't going to be playing this summer because of the economy, so I started to look around again and that's when I found Foothill."
The talented defensive lineman can play either end or tackle and he plans to combine with another talented defensive lineman to form one of the better defensive lines in the state.
"Me and Joape Pela are going to be a force," Roberson said. "He'll play the nose and they will move me all over -- to end or at a three-technique -- and we should be pretty good."
On the recruiting front, Roberson is already hearing from plenty of schools, but one in particular has made a huge impression.
"Miami has been talking to me a lot," Roberson said excitedly. "Coach (Randy) Shannon is a great coach and he and I have talked a couple of times and he really likes me a lot.
"They are the main ones whispering about an offer, but they said I need to get some things done before they will do that.
"Other than Miami, I have Boston College, Arkansas, Marshall, Cal and Tennessee all talking to me too."
Roberson said he's on pace to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
