Thompkins is working hard to be the best

During the spring, it was obvious that El Camino WR Kenbrell Thompkins (6-2.5, 180) was going to be one of the top JUCO wideouts in the country. That has proven to be true after offers from several schools and interest from across the country. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented receiver and he updated us on things including what he's been doing to live up to his big expectations...
"I got back here in southern California after a quick vacation home and I've been in summer school and just working on my game and being the leader I need to be," Thompkins told JCFootball.com. "We're doing offseason workouts and throwing routes. We're working really hard because we want to be the best we can be."
As a freshman for the Warriors in 2008, Thompkins used his outstanding size, natural pass-catching skills and 4.4 speed to post 57 catches for 1,032 yards and six touchdowns. If you're following

this year, then know that Thompkins is one of the best.
Because he hails from the Sunshine State and his brother (
Kendal Thompkins
) is a up-and-coming player for
Miami
, Kenbrell has offers from several SEC schools and interest from schools across the country.
"I have offers from
Florida
,
LSU
,
Tennessee
,
Alabama
,
Arizona
and
Kansas State
," Thompkins said. "
Oregon
, Miami,
Florida State
,
Kansas
,
Arizona State
,
Iowa State
and bunch of other schools are looking at me as well.
"I'm just holding steady. I want to take all my visits and just make sure I pick the right situation for me. I'll wait and just be patient so I can go through the whole process and I really want to concentrate on having the biggest season I can this fall."
Thompkins is on pace to graduate this December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
