Arizona gets a good one in Ransom

Heading into the season, Blinn WR Dexter Ransom (6-4, 205) was one of the most sought-after JUCO wideouts in the country and he had the offers to prove it. After tearing his ACL, the talented pass-catcher evaluated his options and finally decided that Arizona was the school for him...

"I just committed to Arizona today," a low-key Ransom told JCFootball.com Friday night. "I just loved everything about the program. The staff is great, they run a great offense, they have a young QB who I can get with and they showed me exactly how they wanted to use me so I just felt the most comfortable with them."

Ransom missed the final four games of the season, including Blinn's thilling 31-26 win over Fort Scott to win the NJCAA National Championship, with a torn ACL, but he said he's already in rehab and close to being back to full strength after only a month away from workouts.

"(The knee) is about 20 degrees (of mobility) away from being back to 100% so I should easily be ready to go by spring," Ransom said. "I'm already rehabbing and working it hard and I'm getting everything done in school so I'll be able to sign in February and I will enroll in June after I get my AA."

Even though he missed those final four games, Ransom still put up 19 receptions for 412 yards and seven touchdowns this year after having a monster freshman season that saw him post 36 receptions for 734 yards and 10 scores.

Ransom chose the Wildcats over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, California, Oregon, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri among his 20 total offers.

The talented wideout redshirted in 2007 so once he enrolls at Arizona he will have two years to play two.
