"A lot of other schools are recruiting me pretty hard – Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, SMU and a bunch of others. I've just been talking to a lot of coaches and finding out about things and they are finding out about me.
"I know that I definitely want to take official visits to Tennessee and Central Florida and I'll probably take my other three visits before I decide."
Last year, as a true freshman, Jackson played both defensive end positions for one of the top JUCO programs in the country and started the first five games – notching nine sacks and 40 tackles – before a slight shoulder separation caused him to miss a game.
"It basically popped out and then popped right back in," Jackson said about his right shoulder injury back in April. "I just missed a game and then had the doctors check it out and they said there was no damage or ligament tears.
"After that, I wasn't starting anymore, but I played a lot and this year I plan on starting every game and being 'the guy' outside."
So far this summer, Jackson said he and some of his teammates have been taking classes and working out while trying to improve on the field both physically and mentally.
"I get my tape and watch it to see what I can improve on and I get tape of other teams so I can watch the players we're going to face and find out how to beat them," Jackson said. "Me and a few of the guys get together and run and lift together every day. It's tough, but this is the time when you can improve the most."
Jackson is on pace to graduate in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
