Reynolds Sets Up Three Official Visits
In addition to those five schools, all of whom have offered, Reynolds has full rides from the likes of Boise State, Kansas State and Maryland and he's been hearing from a plethora of other programs including USC, UCLA, Miami, Iowa State and Texas A&M among others.
"I'm still open to anyone that wants to recruit me and show me what their school is all about, but I also need to start narrowing things down a little bit and the ones I've scheduled my visits with so far are the ones that are standing out at this point," Reynolds noted.
With his size, his athleticism and his tenacity, Reynolds can play almost anywhere along the line, depending on the scheme, and his head coach, Alonzo Carter, said recently that he feels his player is only starting to tap his full potential.
"He played mainly the nose for us, but he can play anywhere," Contra Costa head coach Alonzo Carter told JCFootball.com this spring. "He can play the three (technique) or even as a five (technique) where he's over the tackle in a 3-4.
"He's really strong and he's getting stronger. He's also got that speed and quickness you just don't see in a guy his size. He can stop the run or get after the quarterback. Whatever you need him to do, he can do it. He's a talented guy."
As far as what he's working on this offseason, Reynolds said that he wants to get better in two phases of his game.
"I have a quick first step already, but I think it can be quicker, so I am doing a log of speed and footwork drills," Reynolds noted. "I've also been focused on my technique, staying low off the snap, stuff like that, so that I can keep improving."
Reynolds not only is getting it done on the football field; he's also been hard at work in the classroom as well and he will finish up his two year degree next May with three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
